An HEA profile is a steel profile in the shape of an H. They are normalised in accordance with DIN 1025-3.
An HEB profile is a steel profile in the shape of an H. H-profiles are profiles with wide parallel flanges. HEB (old name: IPB-profile), are the trade names for typical wide flange beams according to DIN normalisation. The new standard is EN 10025-2:2004.
IPE, European I-profile: DIN 1025-5:1994-03 for IPE 80 to IPE 600 (80 and 600 refer to the height). An IPE is a profile with parallel flanges and a consistent thickness. For equivalent mechanical properties IPE is lighter than an IPN and allows for easier connections.
